White summer hat at Manhattan Beach!

On Saturday morning the weather in SoCal didn't seems so Californian at all. So, first I went to Santa Monica Place to buy some essentials (Patty! I got your shampoo!). This is really a great place to shop, but I will tell you more about it later in a separate post.
For the afternoon we decided to visit some of the beaches in the south. We started off to Manhattan Beach while the weather turned out to be not so bad at all. I was pretty happy that I decided to wear a basic white tank shirt under my cardigan, hot pants and my new white summer hat. I felt perfectly prepared for any weather changes!
Aferwards we had some real American fried (YES....) oysters at a Mexican seafood restaurant in Long Beach before we visited the Queen Mary.

A parrot night at Santa Monica beach

Last week I had maybe the most terrible sunburn of my life!! (Hey, I was only out in the sun for about 2 hours...) So, ME + PICTURES weren't quite getting along!!
That's why I was even happier the celebrate my recovery out in the sun at Santa Monica beach while listening to a free concert and eating tons of kettlecorn...
By the way, I took those wonderful pictures to share with you and I hope that my new friends "Mr. & Mrs. Parrot" are as amazed by them as I am.
As for my clothes; sometimes it just has to be casual - a handcut jeans hot pants by my sister (originally by Current Elliot) and a simple yellow A&F hoodie kept me warm after sunset.

My current favorite piece: SBC Hoodie by See by Chloé

This is the perfect post to present my absolute favorite piece. The SBC Hoodie by See by Chloé. I bought it back in Sweden already but since I arrived in LA I have used it practically every day... Spending a lazy late-afternoon on the beach, bbq-ing on the roof deck or just strolling along the Venice Ocean Front Walk, it just fits every occation. Most of the time I wore over a shirt or a bikini and combined some hot-pants to it, but it is even long enought to wear it as dress over a pair of legging. I might try that the next time!

BBQ on the roof deck

Friday evening we celebrated Kim's farewell with a wonderful BBQ on our roof deck. I had an original American dinner; steak (looks perfect, doesn't it?!?!), ketchup and coke, and for dessert.... CUPCAKES!!!!
Kimi, I hope you had a great last evening and have a save trip home!!!

Spending the perfect evening in Santa Monica

Today I felt like getting out of Venice after work. So I went strolling around on Santa Monica's 3rd Street Promenade. Since I needed to get in a nicer mood after a really stressful day at the hospital, I decided that a medium-sized original rasberry and chocolate chip topped frozen yoghurt by pinkberry would be exactly the right thing. Later I met up with Kim, Jasmin and Tamara (also from Germany) at Santa Monica Pier enjoy one of those concerts and surely the atmosphere they have there every Thursday evening.
By the way, you see me in my today's working outfit, which has to meet some daily requirements; it has to be classy (not kidding, the doctors around here are lokking much more elegant than at home), but not too stylish (we are still in a hospital) and above all; it has to be WARM (the air cons are really killing me)!!!
I'm not quite sure what to wear tomorrow since I am running out of warm clothes....

My welcome gift to me: Lauren Moshi Natural Teddy Canvas Tote

So yesterday I decided to go to 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. I had a wonderful 1 hour walk along Venice Main Street (since nobody in LA ever walks...). Finally arrived I found the perfect bag for relaxed Venice sunday afternoons... I bought it at Kitson but I already had seen it at Raglady in Kungsbacka, Sweden.
It's from Lauren Moshi! There are also different styles e.g. black with a poodle, natural with a bow or a bunny! I love it!!!!
By the way, the pictures were taken on our amazing roof deck with this breathtaking view over Venice Ocean Front Walk ;-)
